[...] My very non-technical review of the Nintendo Wii… [...]
I have one (well, it’s not mine–but it’s in the same house) I don’t like video games (gasp!) but I love the wii! I really like the tennis game, haven’t played anything other than the wii sports. Anyways it’s real fun.
Just got one for my 14 year old son’s birthday. can’t wait to hook it up. I can’t keep up w/ him on the xbox. I have the same problem as you, Amanda. I can’t figure out all those buttons while the game is whizing by. So hopefully, this will be the winner for me!
I love the wii! I have been trying to get one for quite some time and have not had any luck but some friends of mine have one and the tennis can be intense! The UI is awesome, and like you, I love that you can download older games! Rock on!

…
Alas, I have but a lowly PS2, but it was fun watching you have fun with your Wii.
Me no have Wii Amanda, but I do dig the system. Oh and yes for sure I’ll be watching for your latest ABC VB. My connection speed has improved since the Time Warner guy was here Friday I’m so happy.
Don’t have a wii. Haven’t owned a console for a while actually. If I buy one now it would have to be a 360 because all my friends have one so we could play online. But I hear the wii good times though.
Your Mii has seen enough praise already ![]()
Yes, the Wii is great fun. The simple multiplayer games are just awesome. The graphics are pathetic though, it cannot be denied. Yet if I had enough time for games at the moment, I would most certainly get myself a Wii of my own. Despite its shortcomings, the system and (Nintendo’s) games easily show how very much Nintendo actually cares about what they are doing.
Great miniblog…
Is that your home? Beautiful.
Wii is old news … but an okay topic for a mini-blog. So,… if you’re going to do product pitches of gadgets and other stuff for your miniblogs … how about some link resources to go with’em…then a nice searchable archive of all the products that you accumulate(try out)…
Always the URL forager,

oops … I am blind … I see the show links section now … you should still take the previous comment’s tone (as feedback) that disses the concept of miniblogging product-reviews.
Mini-blogs … a distraction … the venture deserves careful consideration about how it affects your overall online persona.
traditional gamers – and by that I mean white adult males who like blowing stuff up (I am in this list) – haven’t really been that satisfied with the wii, since the current titles just dont offer the same quality of gameplay.
perhaps better titles will come out, but till then I think ppl like me will consider the wii the same way we consider an expensive fu-fu style desert at an overpriced restaraunt (that we got on the cheap): fun to look at and tasty, but it certainly doesn’t fill us up or offer much substance.
Interesting to note: There’s lots less weight in those virtual tennis rackets and baseball bats… and very thankfully, no clumsy-heavy bowling bowls!
btw, I loved the box action at the start. :>
The wii is pretty rad. It’s the videogame system for those who want to be social while playing. The most fun I’ve had with it is when I have a room full of peeps. Have you tried many of the online features yet? If you want to trade Miis, send your Wii game code to my email and I’ll send you mine. Game codes are like email addresses… you can trade Miis, send emails and pictures and eventually play games together online. I’ll send you my custom made Beatles Miis.
btw, just to be clear, Nintendo DID NOT send me this. My brother sent it as a gift. I would never do anything sneaky like that.
Glad people seem to dig my Mii… she is a bit.. over the top!
Hi Amanda,
Step into that pitch!

i won mine down seaside heights and it rocks! wii sports is the best game, they really need to make more games with creative use of the super controller…BTW your smokin, wanna be wii friends?
Whoa, are you an enthusiastic presenter of a new game. It’s infectuously exciting to see you try it out and it makes me want to go out and bag one. Well, I can rock too, so maybe I will.
I Wii too. We have one at the office, and everyone’s into it. None of us are gamers nor have consoles at home. It’s the gaming system for the rest of us. And if Nintendo’s sales figures (vs PS3/XBox) are any indication, game time for the rest of us has come.
Got a Wii. Yet it still sits in the box unopened. It’s for my son. we’re holding it ransom until he tries more foods to eat to add to his diet. Although I feel like I’m mostly torturing my self in the interim.
Hi, Amanda. The last console game like that I owned (actually it was my brother’s) was a pong game. It had tennis, breakout and one or two other games. It totally rocked. You know – for the ’70s.
It seems like the Wii games might cause injuries from lack of resistance. Swinging that thing is like swinging a bat with no ball contact. It’s like dry-firing a bow or firearm. It can’t be good for your tendons.
I said ball contact. Sorry, I know it’s supposed to be family friendly.
i think you should make a game called cornhole if you dont know what please contact me on my email
thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!
it could be dangerous at some point of time my sister hit a kid and all most hert him
thanks! :p
